Well, thank fuck that Lottie Ormerod took time out from her busy schedule of reviewing things like Princess Pumpalot: The Farting Princess to go and see one comedy show in 2014.
Please don’t think, however, that Ormerod is unschooled in the ways of comedy: on the contrary she knows exactly what it’s like to be a comedian as we can divine from her one review… of Tania Edwards. “This audience of glum looking 50-somethings … would unnerve even the best comedians” she says. “Sharing her inner idiot displays real skill and [is] something which many other comedians spend years trying to achieve,” she claims. “She is what could be described as a kind comedian,” she opines. “However there is a question that only comedians can answer,” she attests. “…Why they feel it necessary to mention other comedians so much”.
I don’t know what to make of this except to say “No it wouldn’t,” “No it isn’t and no they don’t,” “Just say ‘she is a kind comedian’, then” and “Perhaps you are conflating Stewart Lee into ‘comedians’?”
Anyway, I’m glad she liked the one show she bothered to visit. I hope she’ll jump into our foetid waters again sometime.
